Is this an original or fake

Years ago my sister gifted this to my dad. He no longer uses it so I was wondering if I should service it from a local place or from a Tissot store. I looked it up online and only automatic t classics have a similar watch face. This seems like a quartz watch? I don't want to insult my sister by asking her if it's original and the nearest Tissot center is 150km away. Please help a brother out?
