Young fit people aren't motivational

I'm an older guy. I've been sedentary most of my life and decided much later in life to try to get in shape. Turns out that after your 40s, getting fit is considerably more difficult due to how the body works. It's not impossible, but it's nowhere near as easy as it would be if I were in my late teens or early 20s. At this point, it feels more like I'm trying to slow the collapse than make any appreciable gains.

That being said, hearing young fitness influencers or personal trainers go on about how "all you have to do is this..." irritates me. They don't understand how easy it is at their age. They could pick up something off the ground and somehow get six-pack abs in the process. I'm lucky if I can get out of bed without falling over from back pain.
