RRSP Taxation in Massachusetts
Question as a Canadian that may move to the states on a TN or L1 and aiming to become a Canadian non-resident for the lower taxes.
My question is if a Canadian RRSP (Registered Retirement Savings Plan) is taxed in Massachusetts? I saw that there is a federal agreeement to recognize it within the states as a retirement account, but some states like California will tax the RRSP still. I saw this mentioned on some posts on this subreddit, but non explicitly mentioned Massachusetts.
I wanted to check if anyone knows what is Massachusetts' stance on the Canadian RRSP in terms of tax. I am not planning to keep contributing while in the states, and do not plan to withdraw early. I just want to hold what I already have.
Thank you!
