The Roland D-05 is great.

Just got one at a decent price. I've lusted over a D-50 but I don't want to chance it with an old synth and I can't justify the size, because it's more of a preset machine.

But I've always wanted the sound. The D-05s have been few and far between in my area and when they do pop up, they aren't too cheap. But I finally found one close to me, and got it for a decent price. (300e)

It's definitely a niche synth when it comes to the sound pallette, but I love it. A lot of usable sounds, for me anyway. Get one if you love the sound.
