Arctic Nova 5 Wireless Muffled/Bad sound quality

After coming from a hyperx cloud 2 the audio with this headset just sounds really bad even when messing with the EQ and sonar. It's hard to tell any direction audio is coming from in gaming and music just sounds muddy. Guns sound like paper and whenever any audio gets to loud it just can't handle it.

My friend got me this as a gift so I'd feel rude to think about refunding it but I'm heavily considering it(Nevermind can't, I'll just have to keep it I guess). Is there something I'm missing that makes it sound better, or will I just have to "adjust" and accept the muddy/muffled audio.
