Why i left Rise of Nations
Hello, im Carl, i don't want to start any beef, im just gonna tell you my experience on rise of nations and why i never play it anymore. So i first started around 2020, i was a noob so i didnt really understand it and i temporary left, probably the same year i came back and learned everything, and i became pretty good at the time.
Back then all people were selling electronics, but recently i found out that consumer goods are amazing to sell. Now at that time it was a huge advantage, but it backfired pretty heavily. So at first i used this to have a huge economy and therefore dominate.
Eventually people began learning it as well and.. that's what kinda ruined the charisma of the game. It's not slowly expanding your economy expanding better and better. instead, it's a speedrun on who sells the most consumer goods as fast as possible.
Literally every experience i had in around 2022-2023 was me trying to build consumer good factories as fast as possible and still not making it on time, therefore not being able to become rich. I still remember the countries you sell huge amounts of consumer goods: Brazil, China India, that was probably the holy trio, since countries like USA were always claimed.
Even if i did make it on time, someone joins late game for example as brazil or india and single handendly ruins my entire income. And before you complain: "You dont have to sell to this big countries to sell consumer goods! rise of nations still on top"
You can sell like 2-3 consumer goods to countries, and that is extremely annoying to write numbers and press sell while taking care of your country and getting like + 1 million to your economy while someone at the beginning sells 170 consumer goods to india and has like 17 million as his economy.
Its incredibly unfair, unbalanced, and ruins the game.
Now.. lets get into the kiddy stuff. Yeah, being the unfunny person back then i entered the rise of nations discord server, and i said an unfunny joke like "guess the word: n_gg__s" And at the end i said the answer is nugget. I know that was pretty unfunny, but another person began saying racist stuff to me like: you stupid ni- or stuff like that. And guess what? i was the one getting punished, now i pointed this out and they said "oh yea he didnt say it hard g" or something like that. Its a clear racist joke and im the one getting punished when i didnt even say anything. He said the exact same word just excluding one letter.
Conclusion:
1. Balance consumer goods.. please.
2. Don't make us sell 2 consumer goods to 100 nations just because we didnt make factories in the first minute.
3. Improve moderation on the discord server
