What is this quality?!

I got this headset (Razer barracuda) last year for christmas and after 6 months of usage this piece fell off. What is this trash made of that it starts to break after 6 months???? Also the left half of the headband is also loose for some reason. I never throw this headset at anything I'm very careful to not break it.
