Need help surviving winter CDDA

I picked this place to survive my CD DA run, and am currently running out of food fast. I can no longer plant crops in winter, and haven't found any fishing gear. There is a mini mart I ak trying to reach, but it's completely overrun. Does anybody have any ideas how to gain weight to survive winter?
