Why people hate cyclist?

It's fine to dislike mat rempit, but I rely on my bicycle for daily commutes and exercise. I've been cycling since I was a child, and over the years, I've noticed a lot of challenges as a cyclist on the road:

  1. Drivers often try their best to pass dangerously close. Despite hugging the far-left lane, many drivers seem to go out of their way to squeeze past me. I’ve even had to hit potholes just to avoid moving slightly to the right and "inconveniencing" them.

  2. Cyclists are banned from using pedestrian sidewalks by law, which I understand and follow. But in return, I receive constant honking and angry stares from drivers who seem to hate sharing the road.

  3. Even motorcyclists dislike cyclists. I've been met with middle fingers and hostile behavior from motorcyclists, which makes riding even more unpleasant.

  4. The KL city center bicycle lanes are a joke. They're a huge waste of taxpayer money—leading nowhere, poorly designed, and often passing through dark alleys or areas filled with drug addicts. It's not just impractical; it's unsafe.
