BEWARE: If you upgrade your Antminer L3+ firmware to HiveOn, there may be NO TURNING BACK!
HiveOn have released a new firmware for the L3+/++ that admittedly does a great job squeezing extra hashes out of these units.
To install it on many machines that have issues with “signature errors”, they also made a patch file called RemSig that disables the signature check, to allow you to install their firmware. All good and very clever.
But I feel that you should ALWAYS be able to revert to stock firmware, if you so choose.
Well, HiveON DOES NOT allow you to do this, going on tests to date. IT IS A ONE WAY PATH!
Basically if you try to load the official Bitmain firmware, you get the same stupid Signature error. Even trying their RemSig patch does not work.
Personally, I didn’t like the stock firmware anyway, and I like the extra Mh you get out of these things. But I think it is WRONG for Hive to hlock this to their firmware. It is downright UNETHICAL!
VERY poor form, Hive. Really not impressed! This should be changed so that you can ALWAYS go back to stock if you want to!! 😡
