Those with traditional irezumi sleeve without hikae...why?

For those of you with a traditional irezumi sleeve or sleeves that decided not to get a hikae, just curious your reasons for the choice? Anybody regret not getting the hikae? Trying to finalize the decision myself here and leaning heavily towards getting the hikae, but wanted to hear other's thoughts on why they maybe chose not to.
