Kiln drying firewood

I'm a woodworker but I also dabble in logging and milling, kiln drying wood seems logical, but never in my life have a I had kiln dried firewood or knew anyone who has.

On another Sub someone mentioned it, and they seemed astonished that no one where I live indeed dry firewood with the use of a kiln. I've always cut what I needed well in advance and season one or more years.

Is this really that common elsewhere?
