Ford Lightning Inventory

I remember a friend telling me that Ford overproduced the 2023 and 2024 Lightning compared to what they were able to sell and as a result many dealerships had a surplus of Lightnings on their lots that they were desperate to get rid of.

When I use apps like cars.com or autotrader, I really don’t see that many trucks available. Do dealerships have inventory that they don’t list on websites? Or was my friend mistaken?
