What are your favorite “satisfying” games?
I personally love games that leave me feeling satisfied, glad I payed regardless of whether I win or lose. I understand this is a state of mind and I honestly don’t care most of the time whether I win or lose but some games hit that sweet spot for me. They have a theme that’s “cozy” and enjoyable, they leave me with some level of admiration for what I’ve built or accomplished and even my non-gaming friends generally agree.
For me examples include:
Creature Comforts (for the cozy cave I’ve created and we all show off at game end)
Cascadia (especially when I land a near-perfect environment)
Between Two Castles (we all give “tours” of our castles and its features)
Call to Adventure (our story is often more memorable than the game itself)
Parks (somewhat because of the parks we visited)
Let’s Go To Japan (we share the highlights of our “trip”)
What’s on your list?
Edit: Caverna! Look at the cozy existence I created from nothing! Thanks to the “not Agricola” poster for reminding me of this.
