Appreciation Post for Blr City Police
I want to share an incident which instilled faith in Bangalore City Police and the 112 helpline. This happened between 1.30-2 am tonight, just a few mins before I posted this. There’s a police residence colony bordering my gated society, and my balcony overlooks a construction site inside this police residence colony. There was construction work going on with extremely loud music since 1am. Think late night house parties, but much louder. I know it was coming from there because I could see it directly with my own eyes. I couldn’t sleep because of this, and closing all doors and windows didn’t help. I didn’t know whether 112 helps with noise complaints in India, let alone one coming from within a police colony. By 1.30am, I had had enough and decided to try. Within 10-15 mins, I was already put in touch with a police officer from within that area. He reached the construction site and swiftly resolved it in the next 10 mins. The loud music stopped immediately on his arrival at the location. I could observe from my balcony that he inspected the site and spoke to many workers over there.
During my follow up call with him, he explained their situation to me as well (don’t want to get into that), but the music stopped. He was courteous with me and, by the looks of it, with them too. I’m super duper impressed with the speed and professionalism with which this was handled. Despite it being a trivial complaint like noise, it was actioned and resolved swiftly.
Thank you Bangalore Police for making me believe and living up to it and more! :)
TLDR: 112 is useful for late night noise complaints, and the police action was swift and professional.
