Live dynamic microphones for tracking - is it really bad?

I bought an AKG D5 a few years back - it's the one I currently I use for singing live and tracking. I much prefer the highs on this thing than the NT1-A, but I don't really know if many engineers would recommend tracking on it or on mics designed for live use in general.

With a bit of EQ it sounds okay for me, I guess it's just not really as detailed as a condenser. My voice tends to have very soft mids - I think that any mid-focused mics with smooth highs are better for my voice, so a few folks recommended me the SM7B or WA47jr, but I'm not sure if it will be a huge upgrade, or any upgrade of sort.

I don't know if I should do the upgrade or just keep recording as I am - I can hardly tell if it's necessary, or whether if live dynamic mics are really all that bad for recording.
