Progression?? How did you do it?

Hello! I’m genuinely curious. Those who got promoted quickly in their career (like grade 6/scs in 30s). How did you do it? Do you consider yourself lucky or was there a thing you did that really helped? Particularly interest in those who have progressed outside of London/Whitehall.
