Weed Hostels / Hotels were weird. Looking for opinions

Just got back from Bangkok after a 2 week vacation. Overall it was a great trip, and having the chance to cosplay as a leisure class elite for a while was nice. I’m back to work now, so now I get to think about Thailand for another year while I freeze my fingers off in Canada.

One of the things I was interested in checking out was the cannabis culture, specifically the hotel / hostels that exclusively cater to foreigners who smoke reefer.

While I only tried out 2 places (I would have done more but the two was enough punishment), they both had similarities that I observed. Firstly, that the vibes were fucking weird, bordering on bad. In one specific hostel, they exclusively played AI generated music. It was bizarre. That same hostel, I walked in on a major drama as some very aggressive people where having some sort of accusations in the main area. Someone was stealing or something. It was all very “not chill”

I found that in both places I stayed, they were housing a person who was literally just schizophrenic foreigner off their meds. They wandered around the social spaces screaming and aggressively talking to themselves and the staff just were sort of ignoring it and I suppose everyone else was as well.

Lastly I noticed that the staff in both places seemed to be hating their lives, and it was showing in the service. I would act the same no doubt. Those hostels felt very far away from the Thai friendliness and hospitality that I was experiencing everywhere else.

Has anyone had a good experience with cannabis hostels? Has anyone else noticed all the non Thai people having schizophrenic episodes in cannabis hostels/ cafes?
