HS teachers: How far out are you planned?

-In general, how far out are you usually planned?

-What year are you in teaching your content/class?

I'm trying to gauge my own goals, my dept chair's expectations, and what's realistic.

Side note...I'm in my 4th year and my department chair wants whole semester plans by a few weeks into the school year. She requires a weekly outline, but not lesson plans and materials. The problem is I get switched every year/every semester. This year I have a freshmen honors class. Last year I had a sophomore CP and freshman CP, year before that I had American (honors) and British lit (CP online) and the list goes on, so I've never been able to anchor myself anywhere. Meanwhile she's in year 6 of teaching the same class. That's 12 semesters to master it. I digress.

I get down on myself for not having my whole year planned, then talk to the teacher down the hall that is only 2 days ahead at any given time.
