Im testing WW2 games. Played CoH and Gates of Hell. Prefer CoH so far.
I love the concept in GoH of direct control of unit. Though it sucks. I barely can tell what is going on.
I get it, you are not supposed to play the game in DC.
A game that did this much better, was Freeman Guerrilla.
GoH looks very realistic in terms of mechanics. Which is good. But im learning i prefer games to be less realistic, if its more fun.
As for graphics I also prefer them to be sharp and colourful, even cartoonish if it spares my sight 😑
I hate to be staring at grass in a rainy weather looking for enemies.
Company of Heroes was okay, but also very gray and dark. And perhaps too simplistic, with very few units.
But the worst of CoH is the camera and how zoomed in is.
But overall seems better than GoH, because its more consistent in terms of mechanics.
I really like Running with Rifles and prefer it so far to both of these games.
What other WW2 RTS do you recommend me I play?
Of RTS games I like the old isometric pre rendered graphics of Commandos and seemingly Blitzkrieg.
I made some searches and it seems these are the WW2/modern era RTS games:
Axis and Allies, Gates of Hell: Ostfront, Blitzkrieg 1, Sudden Strike 2, CoH1/2, Steel Division 2,
Men of War: Assault Squad 2, World in conflict
I think I will uninstall Gates of Hell and CoH1, because Running with Rifles is just better.
