donation credits suddenly dipping?

I'm trying to rely on autodonation to build up credits to buy upgrades.

My donation credits suddenly are dropping? Is there some mechanic or some cost I am unaware of? I'll build up a few million then it goes to under 1 million the next time I come by to look.
