met with an accident

today morning around 6.45 i was heading for work.i was on a bike and was overtaking a rikshaw from right side as one should. then suddenly out of nowhere rikshaw guy decided to change lane and came in front of me. i hit his rikshaw's bumper from back and fell down. my bike's both front indicators were broken. and my left index finger was bleeding and got few scratches on my both knees and on one elbow.

it wasn't my mistake at all. as I stood up rikshaw guy came to me and started screaming don't you understand blah blah. and said he will hit me I also said i will also beat you. i said to him I'm a localite in return he also said he's a local too which I knew was a lie but anyways. then he showed me his totally in fine condition back bumper and said look what you have done. i said it's your mistake you changed the lane suddenly. then he sat in his rikshaw and started to leave.

i said to him stop don't go. then he got down and said what exactly you want to do. then again sat in the rikshaw and left. i took his number plate's photo.

then i consulted a lawyer he said you got only few scratches it's not wise to file complaint against him as such things takes a lot of time.

later i also consulted a police friend he also told me to leave it.

what legal action can I take ?
