Are dresses immodest?

I feel like my husband is too strict with clothing. He doesn’t like when I wear dresses bc of the way they are stitched at the waist and prefers that I wear pants and a long shirt. I feel more feminine in dresses and I love wearing them. He always brings up that it shows my body shape but they are not tight and it’s just how my body is. It’s not my intention to be showing the shape but even in abaya it will show it slightly. I am a modest dresser and it bothers me that he is always making comments when I even asked him about my dressing before getting married and at the time he was fine with it. I don’t know what to do, it’s a constant issue in our marriage.
