Early vs Later episodes. Funny vs Serious. Which do you prefer?

I think about how wacky the earlier episodes were with its humor. Compared to how serious it feels lately. I like parts of both. But one thing I remember is how from the Pilot and first episode, they kill a kid, mother of a family “we’re not killing a family. We’re killing the mother. We’re ruining a family.” Loolooland, how Stolas was.

Recent episodes were Blitz and Stolas showing more depressed, emotional stuff, and they didnt want to ruin another family in Sinsmas.

Great for story progression, but I often go back to the earlier episodes just for how ridiculous it was.

Im curious what other people think.

Do you like how the series is going, prefer parts of how it was before, enjoy both for what they are? Expect something different?

Either way I still look forward to every episode. So I don't want anyone thinking Im complaining or dislike the new episodes just because all the characters aren't exactly the same.
