Supercell ID friends

After the update the black square has appeared in my friends list and I want to know more about it.

I have 250/250 friends, max followed farms but can I add more people using supercell ID and have them on my friends list? I never wanted to add randoms off Facebook just to have more people to help and buy from as Facebook has personal stuff on.
