Why does everyone hate Julie?

From the comments on other posts, I understand that one of the reasons is the jokes she made about Ethan’s toys in the first episode. Julie is a teenager, and all that was happening in that scene was two siblings annoying each other.

Another reason is that she initially chose to stay at the colony house without telling her family. AGAIN. She is a teenager and behaves like pretty much any teenager would. There is also a scene where she explains that after Thomas died, her parents became withdrawn, and she was the one taking care of Ethan. Yes, her parents lost their son, but Julie also lost her brother. Her parents shouldn’t have withdrawn into themselves and left Ethan’s responsibility to a teenager. Julie’s reaction to this is normal. They arrived in Fromville as a result of going on one last trip before announcing their divorce, pretending like everything was fine. This was also mentioned in the show. It’s normal for Julie to be upset about this too, as pretending everything is okay and giving false hope to a teenager who probably already figured it out, thinking maybe they wouldn’t divorce, is unfair.

In conclusion, she’s a teenage character, who has had to deal with her brother’s death and her parents’ divorce on her own, and she’s probably overwhelmed and reacting to it. So why the hate? Was everyone giving the most rational reactions and acting like the most understanding people when they were teenagers, or am I missing something…?
