Dark moments in the series

Tag is FFV but question in regards to all games.

What are the darkest moments you can recall? I'm doing another run through FFV and totally forgot Hiryu (Lenna's dragon) flippin yeets itself off phoenix tower and dies to give you the Phoenix summon. And I know it died because an NPC states that there was once a dragon that died and was reborn as a Phoenix, no reason to include thst dialogue if they didn't want to clarify that Hiryu does in fact die.

Off the top of my head, Kefka poisoning the water was pretty dark.
