What is going on?

I constantly am hitting people with solid shots with the sv98 and m700 with good ammo and I’m doing airsoft damage, I just hit a duo with 10 shots and did 328 damage with 54 absorbed. I thought this game was better than this it’s my first wipe and whole reason for getting a pc. And guess if they sprinted and jump 1 tapped me. This is legit a 85% occurrence. What am I missing?
