why are readers allergic to realism??

I see users constantly criticizing authors for sensitive topics not going how readers want. this actually happens in real life?? so let me say this; ‼️TW: trauma bonding. some leave, some stay, some go back, some forgive and SOME just don’t get justice at all , reported case or not it happens and some things just stay not ever talked about again which is sad but it’s real and no author should be bashed on how they choose to write their characters, I always find it to be perfectly written.
