INKSHIELD
Folks, let me preach the good news of Lord Sheldon. I've had an [[Inkshield]] in my collection since the Sheldon's Spellbook SLD (still a pretty new player) but have never put it in a deck, mostly due to never really finding a commander I liked with at least orzhov colors, but also bc I thought about it being a lot of mana to hold up. I like doing things, and not using mana makes me feel bad.
LET ME TELL YOU HOW WRONG I WAS. I recently built an [[Isshin]] deck and decided it would be a fun piece to include. Got to test it against a couple buddies, one of whom I had yet to best as he is a very good player and incredible deck builder. The whole group was starting to look threatening, then he gave his full board of big creatures flying, and swing for lethal on the rest of us. I had a feeling a big play was coming and had saved all my mana in preparation. He swings in for 17 damage, plus lethal on the other player (who has already said GG and was prepping to scoop), when our lord commander (commander lord?) comes to my aid. I get 34x 2/1 flyers and the turn passes to me - with Isshin, [[Roaming Throne]], and a pumped [[Ash, Party Crasher]] on the board, I still don't have quite enough to kill them both. But [[Eomer, Marshal of Rohan]] came off the top deck and hit like a pile driver.
TL:DR Inkshield is my new favorite card bc it saved my ass
