I Can’t defend Dream anymore

This is probably gonna get downvoted but whatever

I’ve been following Dream since before his first controversy in 2020 and defended him even in situations where there was some valid criticism (the speedrun controversy mainly), but recently he was showing a more chill personality and he hadn’t gotten into a major drama in a while, very uncommon for him

But then as we enter 2025 Dream posts the tweet which started all of this, it would have been a fine (though not necessary) tweet had he removed the slur included. I will say it was disrespectful to call a community of millions a slur which has most likely been used to bully and harass a large part of Tommy’s community, Dream definetly knows about the large amount of neurodivergent people in his community so calling them that was uncalled for

Also, despite claiming he said that as a way to “reclaim“ the slur (Reclaiming isnt calling other neurodivergent people that slur), he previously had expressed an opinion that he would never say that.

Ok so what Dream did there was horrible but surely that can’t be the only reason right

Now for the other reason, how his ex friends reacted to the controversy and what was revealed after, all of the DSMP calling him out except his closest friends revealed a lot of things about Dream and his treatment of/around the DSMP members, sure those CCs would have gotten hate had they publicly defended him but they could have not said anything in that case, also multiple credible (some not but the majority of them are) people calling out misogynistic tendencies of dream and the DSMP indicates a deeper problem within his treatment of other people

Now we move on to the last reason this post, the fake editor screenshots, a lot has been said about them but I’ll say that it has been verifiably proven that Dream has distorted the truth in a way that favours him and puts others in a bad position

Ending this post saying this is not a defense of some of the Brighton group’s members (They have done a lot of wrong too) and that if you’re reading this Dream, I suggest you leave twitter (possibly also take a break from youtube) and rethink your previous actions.
