[PIC] what kind of fabric is this?

i was gifted a box of stitching fabric from my job’s creativity space and none of us could figure out what this fabric is, or what it’s used for. it doesn’t look like the linen or even weave that was in the box, and it’s fairly stiff, stiffer than some aida cloth. google also didn’t yield any helpful results.
