Easily removable Catio installed

I see so many beautiful custom Catios on this sub! Thank y'all for the inspiration and creativity for each of your projects. It helped as I was researching and trying to determine how to set up ours as well.

Needs were: - Easy access outside from the 'cat room' at the back of the house - Solid install that was also easily able to be removed (home is rented) - Build in such a way that it could be used by someone else down the line, relocated, etc - Possible to expand upon the Catio, add other additions, access to protected area in the backyard, etc.

After drawing many iterations and looking at a lot of different options I decided to use a pre-fab Catio as our largest part of the setup and make everything else by hand and connect it all together.

Someone else posted on here about a seller on Etsy (I believe?) that makes custom pet doors that install into the window. The price was $150 though! I noticed that the seller was using a part (the door itself) that was available online. So I built my own frame around that part for about $60 with plexiglass windows to keep as much natural light as possible.

We have 3 permanent cats and some fosters right now as well and I really wanted to give them access to fresh air when they needed but kept safe at the same time. 😊
