Snakes?

Hi everyone, possibly moving to Birmingham and I have 2 dogs. Do you get snakes in your backyards? I would buy a house, put up a solid fence, and do everything I can (no leaf piles, no stacked wood outside, etc., but you can’t be 100%.

I’m curious about the snake situation in the city of Birmingham and also on local hiking trails. I’d likely be purchasing a home around the $500-600k range, and wonder if the bigger homes are on the outskirts of the city of Birmingham and thus would have more snakes.
