Why do you use Chorus on Bass?
I have my preamp pedal and my compressor pedal for a while. So, the main equipment is basically there. From what I have seen, the third most frequently used pedal by bass folks is a chorus.
When I tried chorus on a multi effect processor that I have in my bedroom, a slight usage of chorus seemed to make me happy, as it gave some depth to low end. Using more than a slight chorus seems to give synth 80s 90s vibes, which is not generally suitable to the songs that I play. And watching some chorus effect demos on bass, the youtubers seem to use the chorus to get that kind of a vibe mostly.
I wonder at this stage, what you all use chorus for. Being a very popular option among bassists, I wonder why each of you choose to add it to your board and how intense you use it.
Second question: I am afraid that a slight chorus for enlarging the low end might end up killing my audability in a mix. What are your thoughts on this?
