HELP: soil to scrap

guys what is the best way to get scrap from soil? a couple of years ago the best way was to get resine from soil and craft small canister then canisters to scrap, is that worth nowadays? and what is the ratio soil / scrap? i just want to know if there is a better way to get graphite from soil than getting it straight from the soil centrifuge.
