Our government should accept nothing less than a return to the previous trade deal. We shouldn’t give up anything.

I know it would be difficult be we will have far more problems in the future if we set a precedent where we give into new demands after being illegally tariffed.

Trump broke an already established agreement illegally. If we give in and meet any new demands we are showing the world that if they bully canada we will give in to demands easily.

If this is our countries reputation we have no chance of lasting long on the world stage. There will be more stress and tariff threats every time Trump or potentially even future US leaders decide they want to look good.

If we don’t go back to the previous deal why give up anything for a new one? There is no point if the US has already shown that deals mean nothing to them. And they won’t keep their word.
