builders, sos!!

ive been having an issue where i cant place an item where i need it to be, even if i use advanced move option.. i watch a lot of builders on youtube, for example, and while they can freely place a bottle on the side of a book and then a bowl on the other side, for me the bottle is only fixed either on the edges of the book or in the middle.. and the movement is stiff as heck. placing other objects doesnt help! is there a setting to change it somehow?

small edit to clarify: in the videos it is very apparent then when they drag an item it just slides smoothly, while for me the items just sharply go from one spot to another🥹
