Managing food texture issues
Hello! I posted the below in the sensory processing disorder subreddit and someone said that folks here might have some good insight into this. I’m not diagnosed w an eating disorder - my providers call it “disordered eating” bc basically the only thing I eat is rice. There are a lot of reasons for it, but one of those reasons is food texture issues. Anyway…see below:
Hello - wondering what you folks do to manage food texture issues? There are foods that I really like, but they disgust me (eggs, salad). I was talking with an LCSW and she said I need to rewire my nervous system/brain to change this and to talk w my therapist…but I don’t really understand how talking w a therapist is going to make the problem textures less disgusting.
