Why are so many people uninterested in dating nowadays?

It seems like a lot more men/women want to stay single for life. I am an elder millenial and don't recall this being a thing back in the 90s/2000s. Every other youtube video recommended to me is titled, "I'm 40. Here's why I want to stay single for the rest of my life"
