Question: Best practice modded minecraft server

Hello my dudes,

I'm creating a modded Minecraft server for my friends once again :)
I've always used Minecraft forge to create the server and just run it from there.

Is there a better option? - I'm thinking like Paper Spigot for Vanilla MC. Where I've experienced huge performance boosts.

I want the best performance for my fellow builders!

We are looking at around 70 mods installed.
